Updated 31st August to clarify that brow and facial waxing services are unchanged.
Enhance Skin Body Beauty opened in late 2015 and my intention was to create a beautiful space where I can do the thing I love - help people feel great about their skin. The business soon grew from me as a sole trader (and my husband as an occasional receptionist) to employing a team of amazing, passionate staff who have each contributed their own skills, passion and personality to our space.
There have been many challenges over the last 7 years but each of them has been nothing compared to the joy I feel when a delighted client returns and tells one of us about the comments they have received from friends and family about how great their skin looks, or about the comments they have received along the lines of “you look great! what have you done?”. The smiles on their faces and the confidence that they gain is what drive us.
This year, while we worked in our pop-up space inside Ocean Plaza, our boutique space was transformed into what it is now - elevated, welcoming, beautiful, and with a large tea room (a step up from the broom cupboard) for all of our team to work together in. The last step in this journey was the launch of our new website to match our updated space which I am welcoming you to now!
Changes
Our main challenge has been to make the most of our small space. We love our location in the heart of Ocean Grove and have been lucky to be able to work with Ocean Plaza to extend our space inwards as we have grown, but we’ve now reached the limit of what we can do without moving somewhere else in the future - something we do not want to do.
Our limited space along with the organic changes in our team as members join and depart - each with their own unique skills and strengths - has forced us recently to cut back on our broad service offering. The first change was earlier this year when we ended our Manicure services, and now we are announcing that we will be phasing out our body waxing services - specifically everything from the neck down - our brow, lash and face waxing services will not be changing. We will do our best to keep all existing bookings for these services but we will not be taking on any new Body Waxing clients or re-booking future appointments beyond October 2022.
We know this is disappointing news to many of you - some of whom have been utilising these services since we opened - but this will allow our small team to focus and specialise on where our demand and true passion is.
Skin, Brows, Lashes… and More
Our journey towards specialising in Skin, Brows and Lashes has been in progress for some time with the most recent steps being the purchase of an amazing RenewU LED light therapy modality, the introduction of cosmetic brow tattooing to our treatment menu, and the continued development of our staff in skincare, specifically Dermapen 4 treatments.
In the new year we are hoping to introduce further modalities that will broaden our skin offering including the addition of focussed light therapies to provide skin rejuvenation, treat pigmentation, rosacea, telangiectasia, and provide semi-permanent hair removal.
We want to thank all of our wonderful clients and our amazing team members (both current and past) who have been a part of our journey so far - and we are just so excited about what is to come.
